About

Born in Galway, Ireland.  I completed a degree in Spanish and English at NUI, Galway and later a Masters in Latin American Literature at the same institution.  While teaching at Waterford Institute of Technology I obtained a DPhil from Trinity College Dublin in Hispanic Studies.  My thesis "Women and the War Story in Mexico: la novela de la Revolución" was published by Edwin Mellen in 2006.  I continue to research conflict, war and violence in Mexican narrative.  At the moment I am focusing on film and cyberculture.  I lecture in Hispanic Studies and Film at the School of Media, Film and Journalism, University of Ulster
